Navenby mapped despite the weather

Despite severe wind and rain, over 45 people turned out on Sunday 9 February to take part in Mapping the Village which took place at The Venue @ Navenby.

Organised by Nicki Jarvis, artist in residence at Mrs Smith’s Cottage, the event was the first part of a year-long project to develop a new Village Trail for Navenby. The creation of the Trail is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and North Kesteven District Council as part of the wider initiative to restore Mrs Smith’s Cottage and enhance Navenby as a great place to visit.

An Enchanting Evening; Thanks to You

On the 23rd of November, a wet and cold Saturday evening, we were able to bring some warmth during our Enchanted Evening and Mrs Smith’s Cottage. With lights hung around garden we huddled in the warmth of the visitor centre Enjoying festive food, mulled wine, and the wonderful music of Nigel and Teri. Celebrating the National Lottery’s 25th Birthday with friends new and old, giving gifts to National Lottery players and sharing information about our Lottery Heritage Fund project.

Sowing a Seed Update! October 2019

This Summer at events in Heckington and the Cliff Carnival we asked for seeds to be planted so we could grow them on over the Winter to help fill our cottage garden next year.  Seedlings have now all been pricked out by our gardening volunteers ready for Spring!

September 2019 Update

Here at Mrs Smith’s Cottage we are preparing for a very busy month!

We are very excited to announce that after a lengthy process of planning and preparation the renovation works will be starting at Mrs Smith’s Cottage. The roof works will commence on the 9th of September 2019. This is the first of our three schemes of building work which will see repairs done to the roof and the structure of the building allowing the removal of scaffolding.
