Memory Sharing Day
Do you have any memories of meeting Mrs Smith?
We are opening the cottage doors for free for anyone who has memories of Mrs Smith to share with our dedicated volunteer team. We would like to record stories which will help us, and our visitors, to get to know more about Mrs Smith, her everyday life, food, and personality.
Wallpaper Exhibition
Throughout our Heritage Lottery Fund restoration project the team at Lincoln Conservation have worked to collect and restore examples of each wallpaper layer found within Mrs Smith's Cottage.
In this new exhibition you can pull back the layers and explore the changing decorative schemes in the cottage.
Platinum Jubilee Weekend
Events at Mrs Smiths Cottage and across Heart of Lincs.
Mrs Smith was a huge fan of the Royal Family and there are many mentions of them in her diaries throughout the years, follow our diary trail around her charming cottage and beautiful cottage garden! Continue the fun by bringing a picnic to share as a family and spend the afternoon playing traditional garden games as a family.
Join the celebrations across the Heart of Lincs and have a go at decorating your very own crown by collecting jewels at each of the Heart of Lincs heritage venues. Start here at Mrs Smith's Cottage and spend the weekend visiting Navigation House, Cogglesford Watermill, and Cranwell Aviation Heritage Museum.
Paint the Garden
Spend a relaxing Sunday afternoon painting, or drawing, in our beautiful cottage garden. Navenby artist, Debbie Davidge, will be on hand throughout the afternoon to answer your art questions, give practical advice, and offer encouragement as your artwork develops.
Simply drop into the gardens from 12noon and find a space in our cottage garden to settle down and start creating!
There will be canvases to take and drawing/painting supplies to borrow, all provided by our Heritage Lottery Fund Project, however you are very welcome to bring your own supplies.
